Privacy is the default, not a setting

Most software treats your privacy as a feature you have to go find and switch on. We build the other way around: at Vzla.io, privacy is the default state of every product we ship, and there is usually nothing for you to turn on.

Umami only — no Google, no ad networks

We do use analytics, because we need to know whether a page works and whether people can find it. But we use exactly one tool for it: Umami, self-hosted on our own infrastructure. It is cookieless, it does not fingerprint you, and it collects aggregate page data — not a profile of you.

What we deliberately do not run is just as important: no Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no third-party tracking cookies, no social “like” trackers phoning home. When you load one of our sites, it talks to us and to almost nobody else. In a product like Dress Docs, our analytics is even restricted to the production host, so it never fires from a local copy of the app.

GDPR by choice

Vzla.io is operated by Vzlaio digital LLC, a company registered in Wyoming, USA. Strictly speaking, a small US studio is not obligated to follow the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation for much of what it does. We follow it anyway, by choice, as our baseline everywhere in the world.

That is not a compliance checkbox — it is a design constraint we find useful. Data minimization, purpose limitation, and “collect the least you can get away with” are good engineering rules regardless of jurisdiction. Holding the whole company to the strictest standard we know of means we never have to maintain a second-class privacy tier for people the law happens not to protect.

We never sell your data

We do not sell your data. We have no ad business, no data-broker relationships, and no incentive to build a shadow profile of you. Our products make money — or will — by being useful, not by monetizing attention.

Some of our tools go further and never send your content to us at all. Dress Docs, our document-redaction tool, does its work entirely inside your browser tab: your PDF or image never leaves your device. Balance, our private harm-reduction logger, treats your log as your own personal record. When the honest answer to “where does my data go?” is “nowhere,” that is the answer we aim for.

Why we bother

Privacy-by-default is more work up front. It rules out easy shortcuts and free tooling that would happily hand us a dashboard in exchange for your behavior. We think that trade is worth it. Trust is the actual product, and it is very hard to earn back once you have quietly spent it. So we spend it on nothing.
